Traditional Yoga is a method to improve the body, understand the mind and free the spirit, and Ayurveda is the 'therapy' part of healing (ChikitsaYoga).
Thai Yoga Massage - akin to Shiatsu and Reflexology - is a deep tissue massage that uses acupressure points to support relaxation and recovery, to increase flexibility, to promote overall health and wellbeing, to improve range of motion, and to detoxify the bodymind.
Thai Yoga Massage is performed on a padded floor mat.
Both client and practitioner wear loose, comfortable clothing.
A Thai Yoga Therapy session is specific to each individual, so your session begins with a brief interview / consultation - for each visit may present different reasons or symptoms / concerns. You and the practitioner will discuss the best approach - after all, you are part of the healing equation.
Each session will include a combination of gentle stretching, assisted Hatha Yoga asanas, rhythmic pressure, deep tissue massage, breathing exercises, neuromuscular and acupressure, and energy work. Clients often describe it as 'having someone do Yoga to you'.

Yoga students, Martial Artists, Athletes, CrossFit - Thai Yoga Massage is the best way to shorten recovery, improve flexibility, and increase energy and/or speed. Each session focuses on your specific sport of choice, particularly those areas that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements. Thai Yoga Massage is the perfect balance to your training because it will enhance pre-event preparation, reduce recovery time for maximum performance, promote flexibility while maintaining strength, reduce fatigue, improve endurance, help prevent injury, and prepare the bodymind for optimal performance. A key benefit of Thai Yoga Massage is its history in the ancient warrior traditions of India, and just like then, it targets muscle-tendon junctions. If you participate in regular physical activity, Thai Yoga Massage every week or two is a logical addition to your normal regime. Herbal Compress Treatments are a Shala specialty.
Bundles of traditional healing herbs are steamed, then rubbed and rolled on the body during the therapy session to stimulate and relax, invigorate and sooth stiff, sore or pulled muscles, while boosting the body's natural energy channels.

If you need healing consider a Healing Hatha Yoga class. A regular Hatha Yoga practice puts us on track for healing, regardless of your current health, level of flexibility or finances - because dropping in on Healing Hatha Yoga class only costs $5 (non-members).
The more we practice Traditional Yoga, the greater the beneficial change in our life.
Traditional Yoga is not about being a 'pretzel', or doing 'hot yoga' or 'power yoga'.
Traditional Yoga is about feeling better – about being happy, healthy and whole.
A regular Healing Hatha Yoga class - either once or twice a week - produces amazing results.
